Netanyahu: Indonesia May Recognize Israel with Palestinian Statehood

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu referenced Indonesia in his speech at the UN General Assembly on September 26, 2025. This came after Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto outlined Indonesia’s position on resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Netanyahu stated that Prabowo’s suggestion – that Indonesia could recognize Israel if a Palestinian state is acknowledged – could happen in the future.

“I want to highlight the speech of the President of Indonesia, the world’s largest Muslim country. I believe this will occur,” he said.

Previously, Prabowo reaffirmed Indonesia’s full support for a two-state solution in Palestine, emphasizing the necessity of this approach.
