China Purges High-Ranking Generals

The Chinese Communist Party fired nine high-ranking generals, NOVA reported.

Observers described their removal as one of the biggest purges of the army command in decades.

Officially, the nine are accused of participating in major abuses and corruption, but according to experts, the dismissals are political.They come on the eve of the party’s Central Committee plenum, which defines the path for economic development of the country.
