Prabowo reportedly Offered $1 Billion Bribe

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Special Presidential envoy for Climate and Energy Hashim Djojohadikusumo revealed that parties attempted to bribe President Prabowo Subianto with US$ 1 billion, equivalent to Rp. 16.5 trillion. Hashim disclosed this details while attending the Indonesia Praying event hosted by FORMAS in kuningan City, South Jakarta, on Saturday, October 18, 2025.

He recounted that several months prior,Prabowo contacted him on a Sunday evening,inquiring about his activities. Hashim responded that he was reading.

“He called and said, ‘I just wanted to share a story, someone offered me a bribe,'” Hashim stated, quoting Prabowo.

Hashim then asked Prabowo the amount of the proposed bribe.Prabowo responded with US$ 1 billion.

“Yes, Deputy Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas Fahri Hamzah has also heard this story.I am simply revealing it. People are being audacious, attempting to bribe our president,” Hashim added.
