Starting from January 23, all modding players can download the new NVIDIA RTX Remix public beta version for free, experiment, create and leave feedback suggestions based on NVIDIA RTX Remix to improve the experience and subsequent official release.
With NVIDIA RTX Remix, NVIDIA will use full ray tracing (also known as path tracing), NVIDIA DLSS, NVIDIA Reflex, modern physically based rendering (PBR) and generative AI texturing tools to help modders recreate their favorite games classic game.
NVIDIA RTX Remix is an end-to-end platform built on NVIDIA Omniverse that uses a specific feature pipeline to remaster DirectX 8 and 9 games. For the latest compatible games, please refer to the community compatibility list on ModDB. For technical information on compatibility, please refer to the Remix file.
Remix consists of two parts, one is an application used to create lights and add recreated materials to game scenes, and the other runtime is used to capture classic game scenes and add recreated materials to the game while playing.
NVIDIA has used RTX Remix to create a beautifully remastered version of “Portal RTX Edition”, and mod players have also used RTX Remix to create “Portal: Prelude RTX Edition”. Currently, Orbifold Studios is using RTX Remix to develop “Half-Life 2 RTX”: RTX Remix project, which is a community-remastered version of the highest-rated game in history.
Check out the latest “Thriller 2 RTX Edition” game trailer, which showcases Orbifold Studios’ latest update to the “Thriller” series spin-off game “Ravenholm”.
With the release of the public beta version of RTX Remix, modding players can create higher-level RTX Mods.
