Former Soccer Coach Timothy Boggs Indicted on Sexual Battery Charges

Timothy Boggs, 51, a former soccer coach and West Salem Village Council member, has been indicted on nine counts of sexual battery involving a minor. The charges stem from alleged incidents occurring between October 1, 2024, and April 30, 2025.

Details of the Allegations

According to indictments, Boggs is accused of engaging in sexual activity with a 16-year-old whom he coached, instructed, or had disciplinary control over News 5 Cleveland. The indictment specifies one second-degree felony and eight third-degree felonies WKYC.

Boggs’ Coaching History and Resignation

Boggs served as the girls’ soccer coach at Northwestern Local Schools for three seasons, from 2023 to 2025. He resigned from his position on February 25, 2026 Cleveland 19. Northwestern Local Schools Superintendent Julie McCumber stated that the allegations reportedly occurred outside of Boggs’ role as a scholastic coach and were not connected to his employment with the district Cleveland 19.

Prior to his resignation, school officials had positively reviewed Boggs’ performance, stating in November 2024 that Northwestern was “fortunate to have Coach Boggs working with our girls soccer players” WKYC.
