Ozzy Osbourne to be Immortalized with Statue at Hellfest Festival
A massive statue honoring the late Ozzy Osbourne will be unveiled at this year’s Hellfest, one of Europe’s largest metal festivals, on June 18th. The tribute comes less than a year after Osbourne’s death on July 22, 2025, from a heart attack, as reported in his death certificate, which also cited coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s disease Blabbermouth.
Sharon Osbourne, Ozzy’s widow and manager, shared initial images of the nearly 20-foot-tall (six-meter) sculpture during an appearance at MIDEM 2026 in Cannes, France, on February 6th VICE. “Oh, there he is. Look at him, a rock god,” she said. “That is going to debut at Hellfest…and the whole family will be there to see it. And it’s such a great tribute. It’s amazing.”
The statue will be positioned near the entrance of the festival grounds in Clisson, France VICE. Hellfest previously honored a metal icon with a statue of Motörhead’s Lemmy Kilmister, unveiled in 2022 NME. That sculpture was created by Caroline Brisset, though the artist behind the Ozzy Osbourne statue has not yet been revealed.
Hellfest 2026 Lineup
Hellfest 2026 will seize place from June 18th to June 21st and features a diverse lineup of metal and hard rock acts, including headliners Bring Me The Horizon, Iron Maiden, Limp Bizkit, and The Offspring NME. Other notable performers include Deep Purple, Sabaton, Volbeat, Bad Omens, Papa Roach, Architects, Megadeth, Alice Cooper, and The Hives NME.
Ozzfest Revival and Ozzy Osbourne Exhibition
In related news, Sharon Osbourne announced plans to bring back Ozzfest in 2027 VICE. She also revealed plans to tour the “Ozzy Osbourne: Working Class Hero” exhibition, which originally opened at the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery in June 2025 and was extended following Osbourne’s death VICE. The exhibition showcases Osbourne’s awards, including Grammys and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame accolades.
Osbourne was also posthumously honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the BRIT Awards on February 28th, accepted by Sharon and their daughter, Kelly VICE. Robbie Williams performed a tribute to Osbourne, singing “No More Tears” with members of Osbourne’s longtime band.
