Paolo Frello & Partners Transforms Milan Villa Into 500-Square-Meter Art Showcase
Milan design firm Paolo Frello & Partners has conceived a residential villa in Milan of about 500 square meters, featuring a continuous spatial layout, custom elements, and a collection of Italian art, hola.com reported.
The project reorganizes the home’s circulation through a cylindrical oak-and-parchment entryway that links the garden, garage, and living spaces. This central volume directs movement toward a cantilevered wooden staircase anchored directly to the structural walls, paired with floor-to-ceiling glass balustrades to maximize interior sightlines.
Custom Millwork and Living Spaces
The main living area centers on a custom curved bookcase that spans the room, featuring interior illumination and an integrated dark panel that conceals a television screen. A semicircular green-upholstered sofa from Gallotti & Radice faces the shelving unit, flanked by glass surfaces, brass accents, and lacquered wood finishes.
Sliding glass doors from Lualdi separate the adjoining dining room without obstructing natural light. The dining space contains a custom table with a green lacquered glass top surrounded by Mario Bellini’s Cab chairs for Cassina, upholstered in burgundy leather, beneath a suspension lamp designed by Vibia.
Integration of Italian Art Collections
The residence incorporates works by prominent Italian artists throughout its interior spaces. A painting by Valerio Adami hangs in the dining room, providing a pop-art contrast to the neutral architecture and reflecting off the green glass table surface. Additional works by Fausto Melotti and Piero Dorazio are positioned across the home’s multiple levels.
The kitchen adopts a monolithic black matte finish paired with stainless steel surfaces and a mirrored front that amplifies natural daylight.
