Robert collapsed on the mound due to an “unknown cardiovascular event” but was resuscitated by the Phillies’ athletic trainers, an intervention he credits with saving his life.

A Near-Fatal Incident

The incident occurred on October 31st while Robert was preparing for the offseason. He began to perceive light-headed during a bullpen session and subsequently lost consciousness.
