Pininfarina Reimagines the Iconic Honda NSX
Italian design studio Pininfarina,famed for its work on classic Ferrari and Alfa Romeo cars,has turned its attention to one of Ferrari’s greatest rivals: the Honda NSX. Considered by many to be the best sports car of the 1990s, the NSX is now receiving a stunning makeover. Pininfarina collaborated closely with Honda experts at Jas Motorsport to restore and substantially upgrade the NSX, featuring a carbon fiber body and a more powerful engine.
This collaboration brings together two Italian powerhouses working on a Japanese icon.The project involves reworking the NSX’s body in carbon fiber, utilizing pininfarina’s renowned design expertise, and then handing it over to Honda’s motorsport specialists, JAS motorsport, to elevate performance to modern standards. The upgraded V6 engine is engineered for increased power, torque, and responsiveness.
Only manual transmission NSXs will be converted. Both left-hand and right-hand drive models will be offered. Pistonheads provides further details on this exciting project.
