nemanja Matic Criticizes Modern Youth Football Culture

Nemanja matic, the experienced Serbian footballer, recently expressed his concerns regarding the changing habits of young players in an interview with “Sky Calcio – the original.” He contrasted the dedication of his generation with what he perceives as a lack of focus among current youth players, attributing this shift to increased distractions.

Matic highlighted the prevalence of video games, specifically the PlayStation, and other external influences as factors hindering young footballers’ commitment. He suggested that today’s aspiring players are not dedicating the same amount of time to honing their skills on the pitch as he and his contemporaries did.

“The new generation plays too much at the PlayStation,” Matic stated. “there are so many things outside football that it is not easy for them to stay focused on football. I was on the pitch all day,” reflecting on his own upbringing where football consumed the majority of his time.

This sentiment echoes a broader debate within the footballing world about the impact of modern lifestyles and technology on youth growth. While acknowledging the benefits of a balanced life, Matic’s comments underscore the importance of unwavering dedication and focused practice for achieving success in professional football.
