Jakarta – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has cautioned the Indonesian people to prepare for potential economic hardships stemming from the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. While inaugurating the Bailey Bridge and Armco Bridge in Aceh on Monday, March 9, 2026, President Prabowo stated, “We do not hide behind the system that is already in place. We face difficulties with the attitude that we want to overcome difficulties. We must have the courage to overcome difficulties. We do not cover up difficulties, we do not pretend that there are no difficulties.”

Prabowo affirmed the government’s resolve to confront these difficulties head-on, expressing gratitude for Indonesia’s considerable resilience. He also announced plans to address the nation comprehensively in the near future, providing a detailed briefing on the situation.
