Beaubrun’s dance classes, which have drawn participants in cities like Paris, Sydney, and Toronto, focus on “making people leave happy,” he stated. His methodology prioritizes inclusivity, with no prior experience required. “Anyone can dance,” Beaubrun emphasized. “It’s about reconnecting with your inner child and having fun.” This approach has resonated with audiences, including 76-year-old Marie-Paule Faure, whose attendance at a Paris class was widely shared online.

Style and Musical Influence

Beaubrun’s choreography blends Haitian roots, street jazz, reggae, and Afro-dance, paired with familiar pop tracks like ABBA’s “Dancing Queen” and Britney Spears’ “Baby One More Time.” He chooses “songs that everyone knows” to ease learning, he explained. His 2024 single “La madame,” which features young dancers and garnered 16 million views, highlighted his ability to merge cultural heritage with mainstream appeal.

From Engineering to Dance

Born in Haiti to artist parents, Beaubrun initially pursued engineering, earning a degree in mathematical engineering from Bordeaux. He worked in Paris before transitioning to dance in 2011, collaborating with artists like Stromae and Julien Doré. His Instagram account, launched in 2021, became a platform for his classes, which grew rapidly after viral videos of his choreographies.

He will also teach in Ottawa on July 24. “Dancing is liberating,” Beaubrun said. “It’s a way to connect, heal, and celebrate.” His classes are open to all, with no prerequisites, and have been described by participants as “life-changing” for their mental well-being.
