Raven Johnson Earns SEC Community Service Recognition

Columbia, S.C. – South Carolina senior Raven Johnson has been named to the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Community Service Team for women’s basketball, the league office announced on Wednesday, February 25, 2026. Johnson is recognized for her dedication to uplifting youth in both Columbia, South Carolina, and her hometown of Atlanta, Georgia.

Community Involvement in Atlanta

Johnson has consistently demonstrated a commitment to giving back to her community in Atlanta. Her efforts include organizing an annual back-to-school giveaway, providing local children with essential supplies such as bookbags, school uniforms, and school supplies. She has also hosted free basketball clinics and donated basketball shoes to her former high school team.

Further extending her support for education, Johnson sponsored a writing contest for middle and high school athletes, encouraging them to articulate the importance of education over sports.

Impact in Columbia

In Columbia, Johnson has actively participated in local initiatives, including assisting with a backpack event for a local school, visiting patients at the children’s hospital, and participating in a sports-themed “dream” experience with Dream on 3.

On-Court Performance

Beyond her community service, Johnson is a standout point guard for the Gamecocks. She currently ranks fifth nationally with a 3.4 assist-to-turnover ratio and sixth in the SEC with a career-best 5.4 assists per game. Johnson is also experiencing her best scoring season, averaging 9.8 points per game while shooting 48.7% from the field and 35.2% from three-point range.

Upcoming Game and Events

The No. 3/3 South Carolina Gamecocks will conclude their regular season on Thursday, February 26, at Colonial Life Arena against Missouri, with an 8 p.m. Tipoff. Prior to the game, at approximately 7:40 p.m., the team will honor its four seniors. Fans are encouraged to participate in the SEC Food Fight by bringing canned food donations, which will be collected outside the arena. A Teddy Bear Toss will also take place at halftime, with all donated stuffed animals (unboxed and without battery packs) benefiting local charities.
