Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2 Patch 5 Brings Major Changes to Melee Combat

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 just received a major update, Patch 5, with significant changes to melee combat, new content, and quality-of-life improvements.

Blocking Weapons Overhaul:

A major change in Patch 5 is the rework of blocking weapons. No longer useless, blocking now provides a clear advantage with three stacks of melee damage buffs granted for each successful block. These buffs can then be spent for a powerful AoE attack that stuns enemies and regenerates armor.

Melee Damage Increases Across the Board:

Along with the blocking rework, all melee weapons received base damage increases, incentivizing players to explore different combat styles beyond the previously dominant parry-and-gunstrike strategy.
