RV Dealerships Drive Impact: A New Model Secures Savings and Supports Nonprofits

RV dealerships across the country are constantly seeking ways to give back to their communities while remaining financially savvy. One innovative company, Purpose in Expenses (PIE), has emerged with a unique solution that allows dealerships to do both simultaneously.

Jamie Bianchini, CEO of PIE, realized the potential to bridge the gap between business expenses and charitable contributions. His journey began with successful charity initiatives like the Peace Pedalers bicycle drive and a nationwide RV tour promoting his book, "A Bicycle Built for Two Billion."

Understanding the massive impact COVID-19 had on nonprofit funding in 2020, Bianchini decided to share his successful fundraising model with others. PIE was born, operating by connecting businesses with service providers like phone, internet, and computer system companies through a network.

This approach not only allows dealerships to secure essential services at potentially lower costs than traditional direct contracts but also generates recurring donations to chosen nonprofits. PIE receives a monthly fee from providers for each client they bring in and then donates 50% of that revenue to the participating dealerships’ selected charities.

One shining example of PIE’s success story is Beaver Coach Sales & Service in Bend, Oregon. The dealership has not only reaped monetary benefits through cost savings on essential services but also witnessed a boost in their charitable giving.

"It’s been a privilege to not only save the money internally but that we can support the organizations that we choose to in our community,” shared Janae Cruikshank, Controller at Beaver Coach. “It’s been a great partnership. We’re really thankful for the opportunity.”

GWynn Sullivan, Executive Director of Care Camps, a nonprofit benefiting from PIE’s donations, echoed the positive impact. "I recently had the opportunity to visit with Lewis RV Center in Oklahoma City, and they are now donating their contributions to us. The culture they have already created there of wanting to give back was really inspirational.”

Bianchini understands that navigating new programs can be daunting for busy dealerships. Therefore, he offers a no-obligation analysis to RV Dealers Association members, allowing them to explore how PIE can benefit their businesses and their chosen nonprofit partners. This approach addresses potential concerns about complexity or hidden costs by providing transparent spreadsheets outlining revenue and donations.

With an increasing focus on corporate social responsibility, PIE’s model offers a practical and impactful way for RV dealerships to contribute to their communities while managing expenses effectively. As more dealerships embrace this innovative model, the ripple effect of increased charitable giving could redefine the industry’s role in philanthropy.
