Sports Festival to Transform Historic Center into a Playground
Sports for everyone and open to everyone: these are the guiding principles behind a day entirely dedicated to playing fields, both new and established, disciplines, and playful dribbling through the streets of the historic center, all while dressed for athletic activity.
The event will kick off on Saturday and continue until midnight, marking the second edition of the Sports Festival: an evening entirely designed to promote the core values of physical activity and offer a moment of fun and revelation of local associations – both well-known and lesser-known – and, above all, a chance to try it out firsthand.The playing field will be expanded to encompass the entire historic center: from Piazza XX Settembre to the Torri Gardens, forty associations will prepare their spaces, transforming the city into a celebration of sport. many will offer demonstrations and participation in activities, ranging from popular sports like triathlon, soccer, athletics, roller skating, tennis, and basketball, to less familiar but equally engaging options such as cycling, baseball, boxing, pole dance, volleyball, yoga, and even chess – featured on an unprecedented giant chessboard in the center of Piazza dell’Annonaria. furthermore, the festival will emphasize inclusion with inclusive football in the square, as well as activities like ju jitsu, calisthenics, dynamic climbing, graceful rhythmic gymnastics, and the precision of artistic skating.
