The daughters of the singer Nino Bravo (Luis Manuel Ferri Llopis, 1944-1973) explained on Tuesday in Ya son ochos, the Sonsoles Ortega program on Telecinco, that the Provincial Court of Valencia has dismissed the appeal of a businessman and singer from Castellón and his wife who have already been sentenced for using the name, image and music of the singer of Noelia without the permission of his heirs.

The ruling of the Court considers that the businessman and his wife are the perpetrators of a crime against industrial property and is punishable by nine and seven months in prison respectively (which they will not serve for not having a criminal record), plus disqualification during this time to perform musical, theatrical or artistic performances. In addition, it imposes a fine of 8,400 euros, plus 6,000 euros of compensation to the family.

The facts date back to 2015, the year in which the Ferri sisters broke off their relationship with the businessman, to whom they had assigned the rights to use the image of Nino Bravo in exchange for compensation. Later, the sisters changed their minds and ended the agreement legally.

“This sentence will be and will serve as a precedent to help us and continue to protect him as up to now, and to make it clear and verified that the name and image of Nino Bravo is not a public asset that can be used by those interested in their private exploitation, but belongs to his family who will always be there so that he is respected as he deserves”, he declared. Amparo Ferri, one of the singer’s two daughters, after learning of the ruling.
