Several people have died in a series of traffic accidents caused by a “super fog” in the state of Louisiana, southeastern United States, according to local media.
The authorities have confirmed at least seven dead and more than twenty injured people who had to be transferred to hospitals in the area, after a hundred vehicles will pile up on Interstate 55, near the city of New Orleans.

According to ABC, the “super fog” was caused by a combination of the dense fog that enveloped the region and smoke from burning vegetation in several nearby wetlands, which created almost zero visibility conditions.
These types of phenomena have been occurring in the area in recent days. By mid-morning this Monday, the fog had already dissipated.
