After the shutdown of Starlink terminals, Russian troops had serious difficulties controlling units on the battlefield. This primarily affected the use of drones to support small assault groups.
Without stable communications, the ability to coordinate actions in real time, which previously was a key element of offensive tactics, disappeared.
UAV without control and weather factor
As noted, the shutdown of satellite communications, combined with difficult weather conditions, actually paralyzed the enemy’s proven schemes.
Small groups operating under the cover of drones were deprived of constant control and adjustment. As a result, the effectiveness of such units has sharply decreased, and the operations themselves have become fragmented and uncoordinated.
The situation in certain areas
In the Kupyansk direction, the emergence of isolated groups has been recorded that are focused not on advancement, but on their own survival. In the area of Volchansk and in the border areas, attacks are being attempted without full-fledged system management.
“In the Kupyansk direction there are isolated groups that are fighting not for an offensive, but for survival. Volchansk and the border areas are trying to climb without systemic control,” the message says.
Pressure without results
It is also noted that Russian forces continue to apply pressure along the northern border, but without significant breakthroughs or strategic changes.
The loss of stable communications limits the ability to coordinate and reduces the overall tempo of combat operations.
We remind you that restricting access to Starlink may lead to a decrease in the intensity of Russian attacks on Ukrainian logistics, primarily in the Pokrovsky direction, where Russian units actively used satellite communications to coordinate and guide drones.
It should be noted that the Russian troops are experiencing massive malfunctions in the operation of Starlink terminals, which led to disorganization of unit management and provoked incidents with the defeat of their own forces.
