Stephanie Watts Joins Fuerza Regia Femenil, Aiming for Championship Glory

Monterrey, Nuevo León – March 14, 2026 – Stephanie Watts, a WNBA champion with the Minnesota Lynx, has officially joined Fuerza Regia Femenil for the 2025 season of the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional Femenil (LNBP). Watts expressed her clear ambition: to secure a championship for the Nuevo León-based club.

A Champion’s Journey to Mexico

The 1.90-meter (6’3”) guard, age 28, was born in North Carolina and brings a wealth of experience to Fuerza Regia Femenil. Watts’ basketball journey began at the University of Southern California and continued at the University of North Carolina ESPN. Her talent propelled her into the WNBA, where she played for the Los Angeles Sparks and Chicago Sky, winning a championship with the Sky Telediario.

International Experience

Watts’ career extends beyond the WNBA, with stints in Australia, Puerto Rico, Spain, New Zealand, Bahrain, Israel, and Mexico. Prior to joining Fuerza Regia Femenil, she played for Halcones de Xalapa in Mexico before the team’s dissolution Telediario.

“I’m excited, it’s a great team, a great organization, a great coaching staff, so I’m excited to be here,” Watts stated after her first training session with the team at Arena Mobil Telediario. She emphasized her commitment to supporting the existing talent within Fuerza Regia Femenil and contributing to their championship aspirations. “It’s a really quality team to play with and I’m simply here to support a group of girls that is already excellent as much as I can, like really good players and a really good coaching staff. So, I’m excited to contribute everything I can to this goal.”

Fuerza Regia Femenil Season Opener

Fuerza Regia Femenil will begin their series today, March 14, 2026, at 4:00 PM at Arena Mobil, facing off against the Freseras of Irapuato Telediario.
