Resolute racing enters Japanese market with Kitasan Black Filly

Resolute Racing recently made its first purchase in the Japanese market, adding a daughter of Kitasan Black (Hip 69) for ¥170,000,000 at the Japan Racing Horse association Sale. This acquisition follows a accomplished win in the Diana Stakes (G1T) at Saratoga Race Course with Excellent Truth, a Cotai Glory filly purchased for €1,600,000.

The Kitasan Black filly will be transported too the United States. The purchase was driven by the fillyS pedigree, with a focus on bringing valuable bloodlines back to the U.S. that have been exported.

“Hip 69 is all about the dam’s pedigree for us,” said the owner. “I see this sale as an opportunity to bring some of the bloodlines back to the U.S. that have been exported. We have a few Galileo mares and Photo Call had a nice career here in the States. Kitasan Black is really doing well and we like this as a pedigree for future breeding.”

The filly is out of Photo Call, a U.S. turf grade 1 winner by Galileo. Photo Call is a granddaughter of King’s Stand Stakes (G1) heroine Cassandra Go, and the dam of Halfway To Heaven, a winner of the one Thousand Guineas (G1) and Nassau Stakes (G1). Halfway To Heaven, by Pivotal, produced two group 1 winners by Galileo: Magical and Rhododendron.
