Police Investigating Cyberbullying Claims After ‘Storage Wars’ Star Darrell Sheets’ Death

Lake Havasu City police are actively investigating claims that ‘Storage Wars’ star Darrell Sheets experienced cyberbullying prior to his death by apparent suicide on April 22, 2026. The 67-year-old reality television personality was found deceased at his home in the 1500 block of Chandler Drive with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

Authorities confirmed that Sheets had filed a police report in January 2026 alleging he was receiving online threats and harassment. Lake Havasu Police Department Sergeant Kyle Ridgeway stated that both Sheets’ death and the cyberbullying claims he made are being investigated as part of an active case.

“The Lake Havasu City Police Department is aware of the cyberbullying accusations involved in this incident and these claims are a part of the active investigation,” Ridgeway said in a statement obtained by Us Weekly.

Following Sheets’ death, his ‘Storage Wars’ castmate Rene Nezhoda publicly urged authorities to examine the cyberbullying allegations Sheets had shared on social media before his passing. Nezhoda shared a video message expressing concern that online harassment may have contributed to the tragic outcome.

The Mohave County Medical Examiner’s office took custody of Sheets’ body for further investigation after police pronounced him deceased at the scene. Sheets, widely known by his nickname “The Gambler” on the A&E series, had been a prominent figure on ‘Storage Wars’ for multiple seasons.

As of April 25, 2026, the investigation into both the circumstances surrounding Darrell Sheets’ death and the validity of his cyberbullying claims remains ongoing, with no additional details released by law enforcement pending the completion of their inquiry.
