Tari Eason’s Frustration with Warriors On Display in Latest Loss
Golden State’s dominance over Houston has gone beyond wins and losses, fueling dissatisfaction within the Rockets’ ranks.
In the latest chapter of this fierce rivalry, Houston big man Tari Eason revealed that the Rockets’ ferocious second-half comeback in Saturday’s 127-121 overtime loss to the Warriors was fueled by a desire to finally overcome their nemesis.
The Warriors’ dominance over the Rockets
“I don’t like the Warriors,” Eason told reporters after the game, “I just want to win, it’s really not bigger than that.”

Eason’s frustration is understandable. Despite his impressive 27 points, nine rebounds, four steals, and three blocks in the loss, he’s yet to experience victory against Golden State, dropping to 0-6 in his career.
A Rivalry Brewing
This clash of wills isn’t new. Eason made waves the previous season taunting the Warriors near the end of the 2023-24 NBA season.

Houston was gaining ground in the Western Conference standings, and Eason, referencing the 1979 film “The Warriors,” fueled the rivalry. Steph Curry, being Steph Curry, responded with a quip of his own, posting a scene from the movie after Golden State dismantled Houston in a dominant win.

The Warriors have enjoyed a historic run of success against the Rockets, winning 14 consecutive regular-season games. They’ve also eliminated Houston from the playoffs in every postseason meeting since 2015.
Saturday’s game was yet another dominating performance from the Warriors, keeping their record spotless against the Rockets this season.
