DSI’s Debt Crisis: Lenders Deem IDR 3.5 Billion Offer “An Insult”

Indonesian construction company DSI is facing meaningful backlash from lenders after offering a mere IDR 3.5 billion (approximately $227,000 USD) to settle a debt totaling IDR 1.13 trillion (approximately $73.2 million USD). The offer has been widely criticized as insufficient and disrespectful by the Lender Association.

According to reports from Inilah.com and detikHOT, the association views DSI’s proposal as a blatant disregard for the ample funds owed. Dude Harlino, a figure representing the lenders, publicly voiced their frustration, emphasizing the stagnation of fund refunds and the inadequacy of the proposed settlement.

The massive discrepancy between the debt and the offered amount has led to accusations of a lack of seriousness from DSI regarding its financial obligations.Lenders are now seeking a more reasonable and extensive resolution to recover their investments. The situation remains ongoing, with no immediate solution in sight.
