Angelina Jolie Rediscovers Artistic Passion in Maria Callas Biopic

Angelina Jolie, Hollywood's A-list actress and global icon, has revealed that her fame has sometimes made it difficult to simply enjoy her artistry. However, her latest role as opera legend Maria Callas in the biopic "Maria" has reignited her passion for the craft.
Jolie received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama for her portrayal of Callas. Her commitment to the role is evident in the extensive preparation she undertook, including Italian language classes and opera training.
In a recent interview with *The Radio Times*, Jolie candidly shared her experience: "I haven't allowed myself to just enjoy [being an artist], because things become about celebrity or business. It is a gift to be allowed to live a life as an artist, and this role has helped make me rediscover art and being an artist. I am rediscovering that through *Maria*."

Jolie also expressed her thoughts on the evolution of celebrity interviews, suggesting that in-depth conversations about an artist's craft have become less common. Comparing interviews from Callas's era to those today, she said: "When you think about the old interviews, there was a fuller conversation that was able to be had. I watched Callas's really old interviews and they spent hours talking to her about her craft. Nobody's ever done that for me. She was taken seriously."
Known for her successful film career spanning both critical acclaim and blockbuster hits, Jolie has consistently been one of Hollywood's highest-paid actresses. Her impressive filmography includes iconic roles in "Maleficent," *Mr & Mrs Smith*, and "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider," as well as an Academy Award-winning performance in "Girl, Interrupted" and an Oscar-nominated role in "Changeling."
