Sting, the legendary wrestler, has signed a new multi-year contract with AEW, although this time, it’s not for wrestling.
Seven months after his emotional retirement match at AEW Revolution, Sting confirmed the news during an appearance at the 58th Annual Cauliflower Alley Club Reunion.
Speaking with The David Difference (via Kayfabe Friends), Sting revealed he’s inked a non-wrestling deal with AEW. “I signed a multi-year deal with AEW, obviously not to wrestle anymore, but it’s like a licensing deal, a legends deal if you want to call it that. So I’ll do appearances with them on and off, depending on what they want and all,” Sting explained.
Sting’s contract allows him to make appearances for AEW, but his in-ring days are officially behind him. The wrestling icon shared that he’s focusing on other ventures, particularly real estate, something he enjoyed even before his wrestling career took off.
“I’ve done real estate, I did real estate before I ever was a pro wrestler, so I’ve always loved real estate. A lot of people say, ‘Oh, are you a real estate agent?’ No, I’m not an agent. I’m an investor. I was flipping houses before before flipping houses was a term. So I made money in real estate before wrestling, so I’m doing that again, and I love it,” Sting added.
Sting’s last AEW TV appearance was at All In London, where he protected his protégé Darby Allin from an attack by The Elite.
