Men’s Soccer Falls to Northeastern, 1-0
BOSTON, Mass. – The College of Charleston men’s soccer team suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat against Northeastern on Wednesday evening at Parsons Field.
Northeastern scored the game’s only goal in the 27th minute. Ryan Castaneda found the back of the net off an assist from Sam Loftus.
Charleston goalkeeper, Kyle Swanson, made four saves in the contest. Northeastern’s Oliver Udre recorded three saves to earn the clean sheet.
The Cougars (4-4-2, 2-2-1 CAA) were outshot 13-8, with Northeastern holding a 5-3 edge in corner kicks.
“Tough result on the road,” said Head Coach Ralph Lundy. “We had some good moments, but ultimately couldn’t find the equalizer. We need to bounce back quickly for our next game.”
