Cardinals Soar Past Dolphins with Explosive Offense, Secure NFC West Lead
MIAMI – The Arizona Cardinals offense finally lived up to its potential Sunday, unleashing a powerful display in a thrilling 28-27 victory over the Miami Dolphins at Hard Rock Stadium. The win marks the Cardinals’ back-to-back victories for the first time since 2021 and catapults them into a tie for first place in the NFC West.
Offensive Fireworks Ignite
For seven weeks, the Cardinals’ offense struggled to find its rhythm despite boasting a dynamic trio of Kyler Murray, Marvin Harrison Jr., and Trey McBride. However, against the Dolphins, everything clicked. Murray threw for 307 yards – his highest total since October 2022 – and connected with Harrison for six catches, 111 yards, and a crucial touchdown. McBride also shone, leading the team with 124 receiving yards on nine catches, including a game-changing third-down grab that later stood after a coach’s challenge.
“It’s good to get that feel, that we can be explosive,” Murray stated post-game. “We want to run the ball, but our passing game can be a real weapon.”
Clutch Performances Seal the Deal
Chad Ryland, the Cardinals’ rookie kicker, continued his impressive string of game-winning performances, booting a 34-yard field goal as time expired to secure the victory. This marks his third game-winning field goal in five games played for Arizona.
“It feels great,” Harrison said with a smile after the game. “Hell, if we get a chance to go score at the end of a game with a chance to win, I like us. I want the ball in my hands. I want the ball in our hands,” added Murray.
Looking Ahead
Despite the thrilling win, head coach Jonathan Gannon remains grounded. “For me, no complacency,” he emphasized. “We’ve been 7-0 before, and it didn’t result in anything in the postseason. But, the win does give us confidence.” The Cardinals return home for two games against the Bears and Jets before their bye week, a pivotal stretch that could define their season.
“I don’t think wins carry over,” Gannon said. “But confidence does.”
