Trump Escalates Feud with Bruce Springsteen, Calls for Boycott
President Donald Trump has intensified his ongoing dispute with Bruce Springsteen, launching a series of attacks on social media following criticism from the singer during his recent tour opener. The escalating feud comes as Springsteen embarks on his “Land of Hope and Dreams” tour.
Springsteen’s Criticism and Trump’s Response
During the kickoff of his tour in Minneapolis on March 31, Springsteen voiced strong political disapproval of the Trump administration, labeling it as “corrupt, incompetent, racist [and] treasonous.”
President Trump responded on Thursday with a fiery post on Truth Social, attacking Springsteen’s appearance and mental state. He referred to the singer as a “bad and very boring singer” who looks like a “dried-up prune” and accused him of suffering from “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”
Trump further characterized Springsteen as a “total loser who spews hate against a president who won a landslide election.”
Call for Boycott and Ongoing Feud
In addition to the personal attacks, Trump called for a boycott of Springsteen’s concerts. This is not the first instance of conflict between the two figures, with a years-long feud simmering beneath the surface.
“Trump Derangement Syndrome,” a term frequently used by Trump and his allies, is defined as characterizing opposition to the president as a psychological impairment.
Springsteen’s Tour and Political Stance
Springsteen’s “Land of Hope and Dreams” tour is a 20-date American tour that includes performances in cities with significant U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement presence. The singer has not shied away from expressing his political views during performances, setting the stage for a potentially contentious tour season.
