Trump Boards Garbage Truck, Takes Aim at Biden Over “Garbage” Remark
Donald Trump took a provocative stance against President Joe Biden’s recent comments, boarding a garbage truck emblazoned with his name in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The former president’s stunt comes after Biden labeled Trump’s supporters “garbage” during a phone call.
Trump, sporting an orange and yellow safety vest, walked across a rain-soaked tarmac, climbed into the passenger seat of the garbage truck, and addressed reporters. “How do you like my garbage truck?” he asked, clearly referencing Biden’s remark. “This is in honor of Kamala and Joe Biden.”
Biden’s comment, made during a Wednesday phone call, sparked controversy. Trump, while attempting to distance himself from Hinchcliffe, refused to denounce the joke. He claimed ignorance about the comedian, stating, “I don’t know anything about the comedian. I don’t know who he is. I’ve never seen him. I heard he made a statement, but it was a statement that he made. He’s a comedian, what can I tell you. I know nothing about him.”
Despite his denial, Trump’s spokesperson maintained that the joke doesn’t reflect the former president’s views. However, Trump himself has yet to directly address the controversy.
From his perch in the garbage truck, Trump declared, “I love Puerto Rico and Puerto Rico loves me.”
Concluding his brief appearance, Trump told reporters, “I hope you enjoyed this garbage truck. Thank you very much.”
He continued wearing the orange vest as he took the stage for his evening rally.
Earlier today I referred to the hateful rhetoric about Puerto Rico spewed by Trump’s supporter at his Madison Square Garden rally as garbage—which is the only word I can think of to describe it. His demonization of Latinos is unconscionable. That’s all I meant to say. The…
