UCLA Gymnasts Jordan Chiles and Ashlee Sullivan Earn Big Ten Weekly Accolades

UCLA Gymnastics continues to shine in its inaugural season in the Big Ten Conference, with Jordan Chiles and Ashlee Sullivan earning Gymnast and Co-Freshman of the Week honors, respectively, for the week ending February 24, 2026. This marks a significant achievement for both athletes and solidifies UCLA’s position as a leading contender in the conference.

Chiles Sets New Records

Jordan Chiles’ performance has been nothing short of exceptional. She has been named the Big Ten Gymnast of the Week a record-breaking eight times this season, and an impressive 19 times throughout her career. This surpasses the previous Big Ten single-season record of seven awards, held by Michigan’s Sierra Brooks in 2024 . At the recent meet against Illinois, Chiles secured her sixth consecutive and seventh overall all-around victory with a score of 39.650. She also claimed wins on vault and floor exercise, bringing her season total to 27 victories in just eight meets .

Chiles debuted a Lopez vault during the Illinois meet, earning a score of 9.950. She also achieved a 9.975 on floor exercise. Currently, Chiles holds the No. 1 ranking nationally in the all-around with a National Qualifying Score (NQS) of 39.710, boasting a season average of 39.703. She also ranks No. 1 on floor, No. 3 on vault, No. 4 on bars, and No. 6 on beam . Remarkably, every routine she has performed this season has scored 9.800 or higher, with 15 routines exceeding 9.950 and 24 scoring 9.900 or higher .

Sullivan Excels as a Freshman

Ashlee Sullivan continues to impress as a freshman, earning her third Co-Freshman of the Week award, tying her with teammate Tiana Sumanasekera for the most Freshman of the Week honors this season for UCLA . Sullivan achieved a career-high score of 9.925 on vault with a stuck Yurchenko 1.5. She also tied her career-best on floor with a 9.950 and posted the Bruins’ top score on uneven bars with a 9.875 . Sullivan is currently ranked in the Top 25 nationally on all three events she competes in, holding positions at No. 22 on floor, No. 23 on vault, and No. 23 on uneven bars .

UCLA Eyes Second Consecutive Big Ten Title

The UCLA Bruins are set to host a quad meet on February 27th against No. 18 Iowa, No. 19 Ohio State, and No. 25 Maryland. A victory in this meet would guarantee the Bruins their second consecutive Big Ten regular season title .
