Ukraine Drone Attack: Kyiv Hit by Record Assault, Buildings Destroyed

On Sunday night, the Russian military delivered a new combined blow to missiles and drones across Ukraine, while the number of means of defeat has become the largest since the beginning of a full-scale invasion. The most severe consequences of the shelling were recorded in Kyiv: several residential buildings were injured, a woman with a baby died. Consequently of the attack, a fire began on the upper floors of the building of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

The Russian raid lasted for 12 hours. According to data from the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the army of the Russian Federation struck a combined blow from 17:00 Saturday, using 805 drones (shock and imitators). This is a record number: the previous maximum was recorded on the night of July 9, when, according to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russia used 728 drones, as well as rockets.

According to the Ukrainian military, Russia struck 13 Iskander missiles. As of 08:30, 751 air targets were “shot down/suppressed” – 747 drones and four missiles.

According to the Russian military department, the attacks focused on facilities involved in the production, assembly, repair, storage, and launch of unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as a military air base across central, southern, and eastern Ukraine.Targets included an enterprise on the western outskirts of Kyiv and the “Logistic base” of STS-Groups on the southern outskirts of the city.

Kyiv Hit: 20 Injured, Search for Survivors Underway

At least 20 people were injured in a Russian strike on Kyiv, with seven requiring hospitalisation, according to kyiv Mayor Vitaly Klitschko. Among those hospitalised is a pregnant woman.

Klitschko reported that search and rescue operations are ongoing in a heavily damaged residential building in the svyatoshinsky district, with the possibility of people still trapped under the rubble. Authorities are also searching for the body of a potential third victim at the site.

Additionally,an elderly woman died in a shelter in the Darnitsky district.

The Kyiv Regional Administration stated that several drones impacted residential high-rise buildings in the Svyatoshinsky district, causing fires. A four-story residential building in the Darnitsky district was also damaged in the attack.

Ukraine War: Russia Accused of Targeting Animals in Attacks

Russia has been accused of deliberately targeting animals in its ongoing attacks on Ukraine, with reports indicating that dead animals were even intended to be part of a Ukrainian championship.Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has appealed to the world to “show political will” and “not stand aside, when terrorists take lives every day – both people and animals.”

recent attacks have impacted multiple cities across Ukraine. On the night of September 7th, Krivoy Rih experienced heavy bombardment using both drones and missiles, according to the head of the city defense council, Alexander Vilkul. Kremenchug and Odessa have also reported suffering damage.

The extent of the damage and the full impact on animal populations are still being assessed. These accusations add another layer to the already devastating consequences of the conflict in Ukraine.
