UNI Women’s Basketball Announces Exciting 2025-26 Non-Conference Schedule
Cedar Falls, Iowa – the University of Northern Iowa women’s basketball program has released its highly anticipated 11-game non-conference schedule for the 2025-26 season. The schedule features a blend of challenging road matchups, exciting home contests, and a unique tournament experience designed to prepare the Panthers for Missouri Valley Conference play.
Preparing for Conference Competition
The season’s initial glimpse of the new team will be provided by an exhibition game against Truman State on October 29th at the McLeod Center. This provides a valuable possibility for coaching staff evaluation and fan engagement before the official start of the season. The regular season commences on November 3rd with a home game against North Dakota State. Historically, UNI has enjoyed considerable success against the Bison, boasting an 8-2 record in their head-to-head matchups. This contest marks the resumption of a series paused since a Panther victory in 2022.

November promises a demanding schedule for the Panthers. A key early-season test arrives on November 9th with a road game against Saint Louis. This is a rematch of the thrilling 2024 WNIT second-round game where the Billikens secured a narrow 68-64 victory. UNI will be looking to avenge that loss and improve upon their current 8-2 series advantage.
The schedule reaches a peak on November 16th with the arrival of in-state rival Iowa at the McLeod center. This highly anticipated contest, the 31st meeting between the two programs, is slated for a 2:00 PM CT tip-off. While the Hawkeyes have recently held the upper hand, UNI will be persistent to break their losing streak and replicate the dominance displayed in their last home win against Iowa in 2019 (88-66). The 2024 encounter saw a close contest in Iowa City, with Iowa prevailing 92-86.
December Challenges and Tournament play
The Panthers continue their non-conference journey with a trip to Las Vegas for a multi-team event, offering a unique opportunity to face diverse competition and build team chemistry. Following the tournament, UNI will face South Dakota State at home on December 10th at 6:00 PM CT. The schedule concludes with road games at Iowa State on December 14th (time to be announced) and St. Thomas on December 21st (time to be announced).
