UW-Whitewater Sees Enrollment Increase

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater continues to build its reputation as a leading university.This fall, UW-W welcomed over 3,000 new first-year students during Labor Day weekend.

This incoming class is the largest since 2016. The Universities of Wisconsin projects 12,075 students are enrolled at UW-Whitewater for the fall 2025 semester. This is almost a 3% increase from the 11,752 students enrolled in fall 2024.

On the Whitewater campus, 11,303 students are enrolled, up from 11,042 last year. The Rock County campus has 772 students, compared to 710.

The freshman class is the biggest in ten years – 2,459 new freshmen are attending.

“I think it’s very exciting. It creates great opportunities for our students and the whole campus,” said Terry Tumbarello, executive director of University Housing. “Growth brings new energy, new ideas, and positive momentum for everyone.”
