LONDON (Reuters) – The US and the UK plan to announce more than $10 billion in economic agreements to coincide with US President Trump’s visit to the UK this week, a US government official saeid on September 15, 2025.

Officials said during a phone conference that the two governments will finalize a trade agreement built around three main areas: a new partnership in science and technology to improve both countries’ tech industries, cooperation in building civil nuclear power plants, and improvements in defense technology collaboration. The agreement focuses on economic cooperation and is expected to be worth at least $10 billion.

One official stated that President Trump’s visit “is a chance to strengthen ties with our close partner and ally, Britain, and to advance shared economic and foreign policy goals.”

President Trump will visit the UK as a state guest starting September 16th. He will meet with King Charles and Queen Camilla, along with mrs. Melania.
