Vietnamese Model Dahan Phuong Oan Makes Waves at Celine and Armani Shows

Paris Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2026 has showcased emerging talent alongside established luxury brands. Vietnamese model Dahan Phuong Oan has garnered significant attention for her appearances at both Celine and Armani Privé, marking a notable moment in her international career.

Celine Fall/Winter 2026 Runway Debut

During Celine’s Fall/Winter 2026 show, presented by Creative Director Michael Rider at the Institut de France in Paris, Phuong Oan debuted outfit number 47 of the collection’s 70 designs. Celine’s latest runway collection emphasizes instinctual personal style, rejecting traditional fashion concepts. Phuong Oan’s look consisted of a knee-length beige coat, paired with a black turtleneck, wide-leg black trousers, and leather boots. A statement charm necklace, featuring keys, feathers, metal, and colored gemstones, completed the modern bohemian ensemble.

Her confident and powerful walk quickly gained traction on social media, with some observers drawing comparisons to supermodel Naomi Campbell. However, Phuong Oan herself expressed reservations about the comparison, stating in an interview that she believes her performance and Campbell’s are distinctly different. She aims to establish her own unique style within the fashion industry.

Phuong Oan described the energy she brings to the runway as a synergy of personal style, clothing, hairstyle, and the performance environment. She shared that she auditioned for the Celine show on February 27, undergoing two rounds of selections and meeting with Michael Rider and casting director Samuel Ellis.

According to Phuong Oan, Celine prioritizes models with distinct personalities, encouraging them to present their authentic selves. The brand then selects outfits that complement each model’s individual energy. Michael Rider’s collection focuses on emotion and individuality, blending the brand’s signature style with a natural and comfortable aesthetic.

Prior Success at Armani Privé

Prior to Celine, Phuong Oan walked the runway for Armani Privé at Paris Haute Couture Week. She showcased the collection’s minimalist spirit with poise and control.

Phuong Oan noted the stringent standards of the luxury fashion world, with height requirements of at least 1.77m and hip circumferences typically limited to 90cm to accommodate tailored clothing. International recruiters too consider a model’s attitude and cultural background, seeking Asian faces that are both refined and expressive.

She observed that the casting process is often swift, with casting directors quickly assessing a model’s suitability based on their gait, voice, and overall demeanor. Phuong Oan highlighted a key difference between the Vietnamese and international fashion markets, noting that opportunities abroad are primarily based on merit, while reputation and connections often play a larger role in Vietnam.

A Rising International Star

Born in 1999, the 1.8m-tall model has worked extensively in major fashion markets, including the UK, France, USA, Italy, and Germany. She is one of the few Vietnamese models to have walked the runways of the world’s four major fashion cities: New York, London, Milan, and Paris. Her portfolio includes operate with brands such as Dolce & Gabbana, MM6 Maison Margiela, Stella McCartney, Marc Jacobs, Alexander Wang, and Prabal Gurung.

Despite her growing success, Phuong Oan remains grounded, acknowledging that she still has much to achieve on a global scale.
