Vikings Bounce Back, Defeat Colts 21-13
Coming off a two-game losing streak, the Minnesota Vikings desperately needed a win Sunday night. They found it against the Indianapolis Colts, pulling out a decisive 21-13 victory.
Darnold Shines, Jefferson Leads Offense
Quarterback Sam Darnold orchestrated the Vikings’ attack, throwing for three touchdowns and 290 yards on 28 of 34 passing. Wide receiver Justin Jefferson had another strong performance, catching seven passes for 137 yards and even adding a 22-yard pass to Jordan Addison. Addison was on the receiving end of a 4-yard touchdown, Jalen Nailor hauled in a 7-yard score, and Josh Oliver capped off the scoring with a 14-yard reception.
Second Half Surge Propels Vikings to Victory
Trailing 7-0 at halftime, the Vikings turned things around in the second half. They scored three touchdowns on their first five possessions, capitalizing on opportunities and suffocating the Colts’ offense. Minnesota controlled the game, outgaining Indianapolis 415 to 227.
Defense Stands Tall Against Racing Feed
The Vikings’ defense played a key role in the win, keeping the Colts out of the end zone for most of the game. The Colts’ only touchdown came off a fumble return by Kenny Moore.
Colts Struggles Continue
For the Colts, things didn’t go as planned. They fell to 4-5 on the season, while quarterback Joe Flacco struggled, completing 16 of 27 passes for 179 yards and an interception.
