Vivo has unveiled its upcoming flagship, the X300 Ultra, showcasing a groundbreaking 400mm equivalent ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 Ultra. The device, first previewed at MWC Barcelona 2026, signals a significant push into professional-grade mobile photography and is slated for global release later this year.

Pushing the Boundaries of Mobile Telephotography

The X300 Ultra’s key feature is the industry-first 400mm equivalent vivo ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 Ultra . This extender isn’t just about reach; it represents advancements in magnification, optical performance, stabilization, and structural design. Co-engineered with ZEISS, the lens meets APO imaging standards and supports a 200MP optical output, even when digitally cropped to 1600mm.

Advanced Camera System Details

The X300 Ultra features a primary camera built around the Sony LYT-901 chip, a large 1/1.12” sensor, approaching the size of one-inch sensors. The telephoto lens utilizes the Samsung ISOCELL HP0 sensor with a periscopic construction. Notably, the main camera boasts a 35mm focal length, a departure from the more common 23-24mm focal length found in most smartphone main cameras, aiming for a more natural perspective.

Image Quality and Performance

Vivo has released sample images taken with the X300 Ultra, demonstrating high detail, natural colors, and good dynamic range . Images were captured at 35mm, 200mm, 400mm, and 1600mm, showcasing the capabilities of the teleconverter. Vivo will offer two teleconverters with focal lengths of 200mm and 400mm.
