Jackdaw’s Impressive Stone Sorting Skills Capture Attention
Wild intelligence on display! Jackdaws are renowned for their cleverness, and one remarkable jackdaw has taken center stage for its impressive stone-sorting skills.
Wildlife photographer Samual Stone captured this extraordinary scene of a jackdaw diligently gathering stones for its nest. The bird appeared to have meticulously arranged the stones according to size, showcasing its problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Building new nests every year, jackdaws utilize a wide range of materials, including twigs, branches, feathers, wool, moss, and even animal dung. This particular jackdaw, spotted in London’s Bushy Park, had a clear preference for small stones, a perfect fit for its nest nestled in a hole within the trunk of a half-fallen willow tree.
