Alexander Kalashnikov: From Prison Chief to Farm Worker

Alexander Petrovich Kalashnikov, formerly the Director of the Russian Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN), is currently working as a machine operator at Pobeda LLC in the Kasharsky district of Moscow, Russia. This shift marks a significant change for the official who, until recently, held a position of considerable power within the Russian penal system.

From FSIN Director to Agricultural Labor

Kalashnikov’s career took a turn after serving as the Director of the FSIN since October 8, 2019. In that role, he oversaw all activities of the FSIN and was implicated in serious human rights violations, including arbitrary arrests and detentions Sanctions Finder. Kalashnikov expressed optimism about the current season, noting the improved condition of the winter crop compared to the previous year. He recently had the opportunity to visit his daughter in Volgograd and enjoy some fishing, but expressed his eagerness to return to function. “Now I want to rush into the steppe, so that the equipment can move, so that the field can breathe,” he stated.

A Focus on Health and Continued Work

With the second feeding of crops still to come, Pobeda LLC continues its work in the fields. Kalashnikov emphasized the importance of good health for his colleagues, stating, “There is no way in our work without it. This is the main thing.”

Despite the change in his professional life, Kalashnikov remains a dedicated worker, contributing his experience and dedication to the agricultural sector.
