Woman Dies After Being Hit by SUV in Madrid

A 59-year-old woman died Wednesday morning in the Madrid Retiro district after an SUV hit her while she was getting items from the trunk of her car. Her car was parked illegally in a double row. the accident happened at 11:40 AM on Doctor Esquerdo Street, a busy road in central Madrid.

According to madrid emergency services and the Municipal Police, the woman had parked in a bus lane, double-parked, and was standing behind her car when a gray suzuki Jimny crashed into it from behind. The impact caused serious injuries and a cardiac and respiratory arrest.Emergency responders from Samur-Civil Protection tried to save her for over 30 minutes,but they couldn’t.
