XPENG AEROHT Advances Flying Car Production and Low-Altitude Economy in Guangzhou

Guangzhou, China – XPENG AEROHT has achieved a significant milestone in the development of flying cars with the rollout of its “Land Aircraft Carrier” from a trial production line on March 5, 2026. This development, coupled with the launch of the Guangzhou Haixinsha All-Space Intelligent Experience Center, signals a major leap forward for the low-altitude economy in China and globally.

First Batch of Flying Cars Roll Off the Production Line

Five “Land Aircraft Carrier” units completed the trial production run at XPENG AEROHT’s mass-production factory in Guangzhou’s Huangpu District. The company simultaneously conducted test flights with multiple aircraft, validating its manufacturing capabilities and paving the way for commercial production. Gasgoo reports that this marks a transition from research and development to preparation for large-scale manufacturing in the flying car sector.

Haixinsha Tech Island: A Hub for Low-Altitude Flight

The Guangzhou Haixinsha All-Space Intelligent Experience Center, also known as Haixinsha Tech Island, officially launched its exploration of low-altitude flight scenarios on the same day. This center, co-built by XPENG AEROHT, Guangzhou City Investment Group, and CEPREI, operates under a “1+1+N” model and is designed to bridge the gap between assembly line production and real-world operations. AAStocks highlights this as a critical step in establishing the “Guangzhou model” for the low-altitude economy.

World’s First Dedicated Flying Car Assembly Line

The AEROHT mass-production factory, spanning approximately 120,000 square meters, is the world’s first facility specifically designed for the batch production of flying cars using modern assembly lines. The factory is capable of producing one aircraft every 30 minutes at full capacity, demonstrating a scalable and efficient production process. This represents a pioneering application of automotive assembly line techniques to the aviation industry, ensuring consistent quality and greater efficiency.

Successful Manned Flight Validation

At a dedicated landing pad on Haixinsha Tech Island, the “Land Aircraft Carrier” successfully completed an automated detachment and manned flight, circling the experience center. This validated manned flight scenarios and positions Haixinsha Tech Island as a benchmark for the application of low-altitude economy technologies.

Ecosystem Development and Future Plans

XPENG AEROHT has established an urban showroom within the All-Space Intelligent Experience Center, open to the public, to showcase the future of low-altitude mobility and provide educational experiences. The company, in collaboration with Guangzhou City Investment Group, aims to deepen collaboration in sales, camp development, and educational research. Their goal is to build a comprehensive ecosystem integrating “low-altitude products, flight, and scenarios,” fostering synergy between manufacturing and advanced services. China eVTOL News reports that Guangzhou is actively developing its low-altitude economy, shifting from planning to industrial development.
