There was an encounter with Pedro Sanchez but there will not be with Yolanda Díaz. The leader of Sumar is deleted from meeting with Alberto Núñez Feijóo within the round of contacts that the leader of the PP has opened on the occasion of his investiture. The second vice president of the Government delegates that meeting to Sumar’s spokesperson in Congress, Marta Lois.

This decision has been communicated by Díaz in a letter sent this Friday to Feijóo before the PP candidate has even proposed a date and time for Sumar to meet. In that letter, she is very critical of the inauguration attempt, which she describes as “a waste of time for the citizenry.”

Despite this opinion, Sumar will not reject the opportunity to meet with the PP. “As always, we are open to dialogue and cooperation with democratic political forces to improve the lives of citizens and the institutions of our country,” he says. Nevertheless, lower the level of the encounter saying that the “availability” for that appointment is held by “the spokesperson of the Sumar parliamentary group, Ms. Lois”.

Díaz reiterates in that letter that the investiture is “doomed to fail” and warns that the “only possible government” is that of a coalition of the PSOE with Sumar that advances the social and territorial agenda. The vice president reproaches Feijóo for proposing to dialogue when at the same time maintaining autonomous governments with Vox, “which denies sexist violence and the climate crisis, and wants to prohibit democratic political formations.”

“This is an erratic position that reinforces his loneliness“, reproaches the leader of Sumar, “you cannot want to dialogue with everyone and always agree with those who want to ban democratic political parties.”
