Indonesia Holds Electricity Tariffs Steady for Q4 2025

Jakarta: The Indonesian government, through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), has finalized electricity tariffs for PT PLN (Persero) customers for the fourth quarter (October-December) of 2025. These tariffs will remain permanent.

“Based on the realization of macroeconomic factors for the quarter, which reflect accumulated macroeconomic changes, an increase in electricity tariffs was expected,” stated Director General of Electricity, Tri Winarno, on Monday, September 29, 2025.

However, electricity tariffs for subsidized customers will not change. Subsidies will continue for social customers, poor households, small industries, and businesses utilizing electricity for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

“The government is committed to providing reliable, affordable, and fair electricity. Maintaining these tariffs through year-end offers certainty and stability to both the public and the business sector,” Tri explained.

Electricity Tariff Adjustments Occur Quarterly

As outlined in Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Regulation Number 7 of 2024 concerning Electricity Tariffs (Tariff Adjustment) provided by PT PLN (Persero),adjustments to electricity tariffs for non-subsidized customers are carried out every three months.
