Lloyd’s Market Association Appoints John Levett as Head of Regulatory Affairs

The Lloyd’s Market Association (LMA) has announced the appointment of John Levett as Head of Regulatory Affairs, effective immediately. Levett, who joined the LMA in October 2023 as Senior Executive for Regulatory Affairs, will report directly to Arabella Ramage, Legal Director at the LMA.

Prior to joining the LMA, Levett held a distinguished career in the insurance industry. He served as Senior Regulatory Lead at RSA Insurance and previously worked at the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) as a technical specialist in general insurance compliance, specializing in product governance.

Commenting on the appointment, Arabella Ramage, Legal Director of the LMA, stated: “The LMA is fortunate to have someone of John’s experience and knowledge of the insurance market as we work towards ensuring our members are appropriately represented with respect to regulatory regimes around the globe.”

John Levett expressed his enthusiasm for the role, saying: “I am delighted to be taking up this role at such an important time for our industry and our members. Smarter regulation can only help reinforce the London market’s global reputation as the centre of insurance and reinsurance technical expertise.”

Sheila Cameron, Chief Executive of the LMA, added: “As well as wishing John all the very best in this new role, I’d like to extend my thanks to his predecessor Steve Morrell for all his hard work over many years for the LMA.”

John Levett’s appointment highlights the LMA’s commitment to navigating the evolving regulatory landscape and ensuring the continued strength and stability of the London insurance market.
