So British: Angers Concert to Showcase British Musical Talent

On Tuesday, March 10, 2026, the Congress Center in Angers will host “So British,” a concert highlighting British music and the organ’s role in the symphonic repertoire. The performance will feature a collaboration between the regional conservatory of Angers, the Val-de-Loire vocal ensemble, and the Vocadélys ensemble, bringing together 120 musicians from the department.

A Program of British Composers

The concert program will include Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Dona Nobis Pacem, a work reflecting on the memory of World War I, and Malcolm Arnold’s concerto for organ, and orchestra. The latter piece showcases the organ as an integral instrument within the orchestral framework, characterized by “chiselled with luminous bursts.”

Led by Bruno Chiron and Véronique Le Guen

Bruno Chiron, a former percussionist with the city’s harmony orchestra, will conduct the performance. He will lead this collaborative effort, featuring organist Véronique Le Guen, the deputy titular organist of Saint-Séverin in Paris, as a distinguished guest.
