Jordan Jones, Indoor Football Player and Security Guard, Killed in Georgia Bar Shooting

Jordan Jones, a 28-year-vintage indoor football player, was fatally shot on Saturday, March 8, 2026, although working as a security guard at Saddle Bar in Acworth, Georgia. Jones was attempting to break up a fight when he was shot by Daniel Di Vonne Parsons, 25, who has been charged with murder, aggravated assault and aggravated battery .

Heroic Intervention

According to police reports and witness accounts, Jones intervened in an altercation between Parsons and a woman outside the bar shortly after 2:40 a.m. . His uncle, Edward Jones, stated that his nephew used a “bear hug” to peacefully separate the individuals involved, without resorting to violence . After Jones de-escalated the situation, Parsons allegedly shot him in the back .
