‘Baywatch’ Actress Alexandra Paul Arrested in Animal Rights Protest at Wisconsin Beagle Breeding Facility
Former “Baywatch” star Alexandra Paul, 62, was arrested on March 15, 2026, for trespassing at Ridglan Farms in Blue Mounds, Wisconsin, during an animal rights protest. This marks the second time Paul has been arrested at the facility for similar actions.
Details of the Arrest
According to the Dane County Sheriff’s Office, approximately 50 to 60 protestors entered the Ridglan Farms property without permission. Paul and other activists allegedly broke into the facility and began removing dogs. Authorities reported that around 20 individuals were arrested, including Paul, though all involved were reportedly cooperative and respectful.
Two vehicles, along with burglary tools and other evidence, were seized at the scene. Some of the beagles taken were recovered and returned to Ridglan Farms, even as others remain unaccounted for, according to Sheriff Kalvin Barrett. Page Six and The New York Post both reported on the incident.
Ridglan Farms and Animal Rights Activism
Ridglan Farms is one of only two large dog breeders in the United States that conducts scientific research on dogs. This has made it a frequent target of animal rights activists. The facility was previously slated to cease operations under its current license by July 1, 2026, following an agreement reached in October 2025, as reported by Berawang News.
Paul’s History of Activism
Alexandra Paul is a long-time animal rights advocate and has been involved in similar incidents in the past. In 2021, she was charged with misdemeanor theft for taking two chickens from a Foster Farms truck in California, but was later found not guilty in March 2023. People Magazine details her history of activism.
Sheriff’s Response
Dane County Sheriff Kalvin Barrett stated that the Sheriff’s Office respects the right to peaceful protest but must respond to unlawful activity. He encouraged those with concerns about animal welfare or research practices to engage through lawful and constructive avenues.
As of March 17, 2026, the investigation is ongoing, and the status of the remaining unaccounted-for beagles is unknown.
