Cohort Analysis for Targeted Insights
New cohort capabilities allow developers to analyze user behavior based on shared attributes like download date, source, and offer start date. This enables targeted analysis of user groups, such as monitoring the purchase behavior of users in a newly expanded region compared to established markets. Cohort data is aggregated to protect user privacy.
Peer Group Benchmarks
Developers can now compare their app’s performance against peers using new monetization benchmarks: download-to-paid conversion and proceeds per download. These benchmarks utilize differential privacy techniques to safeguard individual developer performance while providing actionable insights.
Subscription and Reporting Enhancements
Two new subscription reports have been added, exportable via the Analytics Reports API for offline analysis and integration with existing data systems. Developers can now apply up to seven filters to selected metrics, allowing for more granular data exploration.
Resources for Developers
To aid developers leverage the new features, Apple has released an App Store Analytics Guide within App Store Connect Help. This guide provides a data-driven strategy and explains the tools available to grow a business on the App Store.
Understanding App Downloads
App Store Connect Analytics provides data on app downloads, differentiating between First-Time Downloads (initial installations) and Redownloads (re-installations by previous users). Detailed breakdowns are available by territory, device, and source.
In-App Purchase Reporting Delays
Developers should be aware that there can be a delay in reporting for In-App Purchases. Reports from March 2025 on Reddit indicate it can take approximately one week for purchases to appear in App Store Connect analytics for new apps.
