‘Local ITS Project Bribery Suspicions’ Incumbent Mayor, Gyeonggi Provincial Council Members, and 7 Others Sent too Prosecution

The police, investigating suspicions of lobbying between local intelligent transportation system (ITS) operators and public officials, have handed over the incumbent mayor and provincial council members to the prosecution on charges of receiving bribes or entertainment.
On October 31st, Ansan Sangnok Police Station announced that it had recently sent seven peopel, including the incumbent mayor, to the prosecution without detention on charges of bribery and solicitation.
The local government head, identified as Mr. A,is accused of receiving a bribe worth approximately 10 million won from Mr. B, who runs an ITS-related business, in exchange for favorable treatment regarding ITS projects.
